Our local East Valley organizations are stepping up in a big way to support the students and teachers of the Chandler Unified School District (CUSD)! Over the past few months, the Chandler Education Foundation (CEF) has received a remarkable $85,000 in specialty grants. These grants are dedicated to supporting unhoused students, providing teacher and student scholarships, and offering specialized STEM professional development.
Subaru Superstore of Chandler Shares the Love for Lifelong Learning
For nearly a decade, the Subaru Superstore of Chandler has shown unwavering support for CEF through their annual Share the Love Event. During this campaign, Subaru customers can choose to direct a portion of their purchase price to one of two dedicated local charities, including CEF. The funds raised are used to provide scholarships for teachers, enabling them to pursue advanced qualifications and degrees. This investment in our educators not only recognizes their hard work but also enhances classroom experiences as teachers apply new skills and techniques with their students.
This year, the Subaru Superstore of Chandler generously donated $35,000 to support our dedicated educators. CUSD staff can apply for these scholarships online through CEF's platform, with applications being evaluated and funded on a rolling basis.
Chandler Compadres Bring Hope to CUSD Students
Our long-time supporter, the Chandler Compadres, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to building stronger families in the East Valley, has made a significant impact with a $30,000 donation to CEF this year. These funds will provide scholarships for students through the Hope Institute, a school-based mental health center that addresses urgent suicidality in teens. Additionally, the donation will offer crucial resources for unhoused CUSD students, helping them reach graduation and achieve their full potential.
Intel Celebrates 45 Years of Partnership by Investing in STEM Development
For more than 45 years, the Intel Foundation has been a steadfast supporter of Chandler Unified students and staff. In celebration of this milestone anniversary, Intel donated $20,000 to CEF to support professional development for teachers in STEM subjects. This program focuses on sharing generational knowledge across CUSD by encouraging teachers to coach each other, while also providing additional training and classroom resources.
