Landon's Legacy Scholarship

(1 available) - $1,000

Landon D’Aprile was a member of the CUSD family for two years as part of the priority preschool program. Landon was born on May 9, 2017 and diagnosed with epileptic spasms at four months old. Epilepsy had a major impact on Landon’s development. He even underwent major brain surgery to try to control his seizures. Despite the slow occurrence of major developmental milestones for Landon, they did occur and were miracles to celebrate.

Landon D'Aprile

Landon made everyone happy. His smile was absolutely contagious. He would smile so big, and then fall in for an all-encompassing hug. Despite being non-verbal, Landon communicated his joy with those smiles, squeals, and laughs. He showed his positivity to everyone he worked with: parents, teachers, therapists and caregivers. Landon met every challenge head-on and was eager to show off the skills those who worked with him helped develop. The patience, guidance and love shown by these individuals, made each little victory mean so much: finger pointing, grabbing a cup, taking an awkward step. The care and compassion shown by those who helped Landon is immeasurable, and we know Landon would want that for others like him.

Landon brought so much joy to everyone he encountered with his bright smile, powerful hugs, and love of bubbles, swings, and bath time. He was an inspiration and warrior in the epilepsy community and made friends and admirers wherever he went.

We, Landon’s mom, dad and sister, thank you for your compassion to help those with challenges similar to Landon, and know that your impact will be profound on those families.

One (1) award of $1,000.
